Leicester v City post match

We've not been out our best for a while now, since the West Ham game. Too many goals are being conceded, and despite dominating possession, and creating chances in the final third, we've not been clinical, while at the other end, because of our defensive problems, the opposition has looked more threatening without having to work as hard, or do as much. The game at Watford was one which could have ended 2-2 despite our dominance, and the Chelsea game after, where despite our play, they scored with the first effort they had, and you were worried where the goals were going to come from, because their keeper had little to do. Once it was 2-0 it was game over. Not being clinical, and poor defence is a bad combination. Fernandinho needs to come back ASAP, and even though its not ideal, play Danilo at left-back, and bring back Walker. Zinchenko is not a left-back. We need to ride out this rough period. It's easy to blame individuals, but we're not playing well as a whole, the Lyon game at home was a major red flag. It feels like we need a big result. Remember how the last minute winner at Bournemouth transformed the team, and we didn't look back since? We need a moment like that. A win against Liverpool, and hopefully narrowing the gap to 4 points, could be a massive turning point in our season. The swing in momentum would be huge, and we could see the team back to it's best.

Delph is a joke of a player.

No discipline, can't keep his head, zero footballing intelligence, and his pace is gone.

Please get rid and bring in a decent backup left back. Ryan Bertrand would work.
Absolute bollocks. No one is denying he was gash today but he was a huge part of our title winning team last season. He’s just out of form and I have no doubt he’ll be back.

Edit: just realised this is my 10,000th post. Shame it’s in reference to a poor performance after a defeat:-(

Scott from Scottie road about right.

This is the last sentence on his Wiki page:

He has established a reputation for consistent game management, as well as actively discouraging time-wasting, diving,[13] and dissent, which has garnered some praise from football pundits and journalists.

Yeah, he has established a reputation - one that tell me hasn't a fuckin' clue about diving!

We have been poor for a while and conceding way too many goals to be any chance of making a decent fist of defending our title this season.

6 games on the spin without a clean sheet is never going to cut it.

It has to stop from now on , we need 50 points minimum and hope Liverpool drop 14 points in the second half of the season to have a shout.

I very much doubt either will happen though.

today was a day for winning ugly, get everyone behind the ball, grind out a 1-0 , but we can't do it, the players can't do it, Pep can't do it, this is our problem.

Do not understand Peps change in approach of why we are playing aimless balls into the box which plays to Morgan’s & Maguires strengths. We have come away from our braver more thoughtful approach to being a bit more percentage football of firing the ball into the box. Think the performances have been underwhelming since the Watford first half.

7 points is a big ask vs this current Liverpool side but win the next 2 & we are at most 4 points behind. Have faith that Pep will have us back in the groove & flying again

The Chelsea away game against a chav team who were very average imo. proved we have a soft underbelly Since then we got over the line in 2-3 unremarkable performances I thought the mark of Champions .winning whilst not being at our best. at least till we had our key players back would prevail. but we have shown we have not got enough in the tank to carry Peps MO to the letter. and we have seemingly been found out Also the partnership of Laporte and Stones which looked imperious has been thrown a curve with the drop off in form of Walker and Delphs obvious flaws being found out ( he is no lb] Finally as winning can become a habit so can losing and for the first time in a while when we went 1-0 up i felt less confident than normal that we wouldnt go on to win it
