Leicester v City post match

I wonder if Pep is missing Torrent this season as his right hand man. We are playing tactics that are alien to Pep. Possession for the sake it and crazy high crosses into the box.

We are also missing Fern desperately but tactically we should be able to work with this. Need to get someone in early Jan.

There probably isn't a direct Fernandinho replacement currently playing in world football never mind being available or affordable. There are then two options for the club to take: don't buy anyone as they cannot directly replace him (& this means we won't buy anyone this January or in the summer either) or buy a player(s) with different skill sets but who can fit into the team, even if that means modifying our style of play.

The club has one of the top management & coaching staffs in world football combined with an extensive global scouting network. I wasn't aware that they were relying on suggestions off an internet forum in order to identify targets. This sounds very Swales-esque to me.

Ndombele.

Ready made Fern replacement and the best player on the pitch v Lyon.

We have not been creating the chances full stop.

Goalkeepers are not being tested.

We are creating the chances, AND the goalies are not being tested. I listened to the game on Radio Manc and definitely heard that Sané, Aguero and KdB had thumped a shot apiece OVER the fuckin' bar! There's the chances, but yer right, th, not a single timewasting, post-kicking, minute-screwing, piss-taking goalie tested!
Also we have been scored against by 'worldies' just recently. 3 in our last 3 defeats. All from just outside the area. I still think that we could have closed these down if we had been a bit more alert instead of being relieved to clear our lines.
The headers to set them up should have been better and the closing down, particularly yesterday were awful. Look at Bernando’s Pitiful attempt at a block yesterday. You have to put our body on the line in those situations and be didn’t.

We are no longer defending as a team, we have stopped pressing, our attacking is not as sharp and we have suddenly started lofting shit crosses into the box instead of continuing to probe and wait for the opportunity.

We need to go back to what we were doing from Aug-Nov. December has been a complete fuck up.

We can easily still do the title, that isn’t an issue. The main problem imo is that we need to beat the dippers next Thursday and as it stands that is not going to be easy!

Ah right, was at cross purposes!

They are still half chances at best for me. Not glaring misses (Jesus against Palace late on being the exception)

We have absolutely zero penetration in the box and both Leroy and Raheem are being caught more on the ball because they have zero space to run in to behind the lines, all because the build up to the 18-yard box is just so careful and measured.

Perhaps another indication we are fearful of losing the ball in transition judging by the goals we are conceding.
