Leonardo Bonucci

Doesn't make sense, he signed an extension only last season that doubled his wages. It's unthinkable Juve would extend him again so soon, particularly given he was one of many of their stars who extended, all of whom would then expect similar pay increases.

My gut tells me that Juve are working from a business point of view. Selling a young Pogba makes no sense, but Bonucci will never have higher value at 29. But they don't want the aggro from the fans so they are waiting to see if he'll ask to leave. If he does, they'll let him, if not then it's doubtful he'll get more money.

Then if he doesn't ask to leave, it's the horse's head.

If they declared him as untransferrable then why would they approach City in the first place as other outlets have suggested and why would they bring in Benatia?

They didnt. A third party approached City. Most likely acting on behalf of Bonucci's agent and not Juve at all.

Can't see this at all. Huge fee for a 29 yr old with little resale value. Possibly his agent using us as leverage for a better deal after a decent Euros. Whilst for us it could be being used to say to Everton "take the money for Stones before we buy an alternative"
You don't need resale value on someone if they win you the league that brings in twice as much prize money as the transfer fee to buy him.

it must be close then

Yep when another club is being linked with one of our targets you know we must he getting near to completing a deal.

As another poster mentioned, Bonucci will either sign for us or stay at Juve. If he prefers City to Chelsea and a reunion with Conte there is no way he'd choose the rags over us.
