Its very understandable if he joins Bayern. Gets to stay in Germany. Compete for the CL every year and win the title. Bayern could offer him a better wage since they wouldnt be paying 50 mill euros. He would also get a year to develop at Schalke.

But two things that arnt in Bayerns favor. They have Ribery, Robben, Costa and Coman for 2 positions. How will Sane get game time over those ! Also surely Bayern cant agree a deal with Schalke right now but buy him in 2017. What if Sane suddenly gets injured/has a bad year or Bayern think they have another player who would be a better fit.

If they really wanted him so badly, & he wanted to go there, why wouldn't they have done it at the same time as Sanches etc, to freeze us out ?

Regardless of how long is left in the window in my opinion it's a tough window, that's doesn't mean I don't think we will get the players we want just this particular window is hard every club appears flush all the big boys going for same players what will be will be.
 
I don't see any logic in Shalke accepting the Bayern offer if it is true.

Why would they sell a player for less than his current value and then offer to develop him further for a year? At a minimum it would make more sense for them to keep him, develop him further and then sell him next season for an even bigger fee.

Also, I still don't understand this logic about strengthening your rivals. I'd personally hunt Txiki down and slap him if Aguero wanted to leave and he sold him to a domestic rival for a lower price than he could have got for selling him abroad. Shalke have already lost Draxler and Neuer to divisional rivals and it would be madness for them to lose another.

It's a set release clause, and they really can't force the player to go to anyone else if he doesn't want to.
