I think it's possible he was always going to be inconsistent. He is a bit like Mario. All the talent in the world but consistently inconsistent.

That said, I'd still have him back :)

I think inconsistency came from changing his position consistently.

Can't see him coming back, think pep just got fed up with having to tell him where he should be on the pitch, great talent, if I was in charge of Newcastle I would try and get him as a statement signing ,not sure he would go but if i was them I'd certainly give it a go

I get where you're coming from but I think it's debatable that he qualifies as a good statement signing for anyone at the moment. No longer an emerging talent you hope you can get a tune out of but also not enough of a superstar to not worry about whether he will deliver. On his day he was fantastic for us but has shown himself to blow hot and cold. Given his existing contract I think he represents a fairly high risk signing for anyone unless they can get a knockdown price/terms which seems unlikely.

Brilliant player when on form, and exactly what we need in terms of pacy and direct. He’d create so much for Haaland.

But I doubt Pep or Txiki and co would consider having him back.
