Leroy Sané

I would rather we got Bayern to part ways with Gnabry or Coman than to bring Leroy back. Great player but I doubt that level of form can be seen again from him here

Sane constantly lost the ball 4 times in a half causing Pep to yell at him and bench him

I'm not going to criticise Jack but the club were demanding Grealish money as a bare minimum for Leroy back when our record sale was still a quarter of that amount.

I think it's fair to say City didn't share your estimation of the player and knew just how good he was. This is the revisionism I'm talking about.

What isn’t revisionist is Pep left him on the bench a lot, more than Grealish, even before his injury.

He's 26 now, so based on his early career, you'd expect him to be world class by now. I can't say I watch Bayern Munich, but a quick look at his stats suggests a player that's still not an automatic starter (20 starts, 10 sub appearances). He got 7 goals and 7 assists in the league, which is respectable, but no better than any of our current players. He did better in the CL, with 6 and 6 in 10 games (9 starts). But it's also worth mentioning that a fair few of those goals came in pretty comfortable wins for Bayern, including the 7th in a 7-1 win over Salzburg.

Despite the hype, I reckon it's much easier to rack up goals in the Champions League, especially at the early stages where you're up against some fairly poor teams (Bayern scored at least 3 goals in every group stage game). Not only poor, but teams that are used to dominating games domestically, and suddenly have to switch their style to deal with much better teams. It's not like playing a Burnley where their entire game is set up to spoil your play and they're pretty good at it.

Leroy needs to be pushed and pushed to get the best from him.
Pep does that.

I agree it doesn’t come across that Leroy is football obsessed but it doesn’t change the fact he has some fantastic attributes we do lack.

He’s roughly played 100 games in England and 100 games in Germany and his stats are very similar, so he hasn’t regressed like some are making out. He’s only 26.

He could be a great asset to our squad again and under Pep and with him being older and more mature, I think he could win everyone over again.

I get though some people become tribal and focus on his negatives because he left us to go to his home. (Not to Chelsea or Arsenal, just back to his home country).

If he did want to come back I’d bet he could be great again for us.

Few years ago I thought he'd be one player who could be within a shot of winning the ballon d'or. His move to Bayern didn't turn out what we all thought.

I'm on the fence in regards to taking him back.

I don`t think he was up for being pushed last time he was here tbh.
