Leroy Sané

Would you have Sane back?

I'm a massive fan of Leroy, I'd have him back any day.

I think we could use his pace as well.
If we could get the Sane of, particularly, the Centurions' season back, I'd take him in a heartbeat (not sure Pep would, though). But, even allowing for the advancing years, will he ever get that blistering pace back now, specially taking that serious injury he suffered into account?

I think we look back on Sane with slightly rose tinted specs…. He had so much potential and at times he was unplayable - at times I (and others) thought he could push on and be an elite level player. There were games where he could be moody and Pep would get frustrated and hook him - sometimes you knew he wasn’t up for it from the outset. He was harshly treated being omitted from the German WC squad and I’m sure Bayern engineered that. His soft move back to Germany told Pep and many others that he didn’t have the bottle or the drive to be the very best - and although he’s had injuries and still plays for a top side I think we probably saw him at his best years… I’m sure he’s laughing all the way to the bank but one day he might wonder what might have been if he’d knuckled down and continued to work with Pep.

I was accused earlier of the exact opposite, of revisionism.

The bold was stupid some years ago and is still. His father e.g. was a teammate of Jogi Löw during his playing years and Sane just was not functioning in that team in a similar role that he played at City on the left wing. Plus some tendencies to drift out of games etc. he still has. I actually feel sorry for him about that situation - having a wife that cannot adjust - or does not want to - this does not make life for him easier.

Before he even came to City, it was rumoured we were just a stepping stone for 3-4 seasons before he returned to Germany to play for Bayern.

Sané to Bayern turned out exactly as team Sané planned. Often times the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence. Unfortunately for Leroy, he's made his bed, so will now have to lie in it.

The wife & family, or your football career with Bayern in Germany? Not a position I'd like to be in...

I totally back Pep over Sane. You can't have a modern day winger who is as lazy as him. Bayern will release him without blinking this summer. Strapping round his knee a lot tells me his best days are well behind him

Another press outlet today was reporting in addition to that story that the cause for his wife's stay were repairings on his house in Munich and that is why his family stays in England and he in a hotel. After the maintenance work they would return.

Do they not have other houses they can rent in Munich then?
