This was the signing I was most excited about and can't believe it's October and he still hasn't started a league match..

He has to be above navas in the pecking order

Is this thread full of idiots?

He was injured from June-September and only returned from injury 2 weeks ago, and you can't believe he hasn't started one of the 3 league games since then? Even though he had no preseason because of the injury?

You can't imagine why it might take him more than a fortnight to go from 0 matches played in 3 months to starting?

When he came on today, he looked 'ready' imo & not just legging it around hopefully, trying to get involved. He looked like he knew what to do & how to do it.

For the first time, in a City shirt.

Great news imo. We now have an extra player. Exciting.

He's class, different level & massive upgrade on Navas ....

This. I think I have grossly underrated his touch from last year or he has improved dramatically in that department. His touch looked Silvaesque. Quick and perfectly weighed. And his movements in and our of pocket was quite impressive. The only issue I still have is with his hustle when we don't have the ball. It was still mostly sluggish. So my sense is this might be what's holding him back. He needs to catch up with the defensive intensity required.

Should be a starter after the break.

When he played in the kids' team v City, he was more of an allround 'involved' player, rather than just a speedy wide player or striker.

I think we have to take into account that he's a kid & was basically that for Shalke, so he was just going for it, like kids do, hit & miss.

No different to ilkay who wasn't even fit enough to make the bench for the derby when sane played 20 mins.
Then ilkay went on to play 3 full games in 14 days
Just thought on that basis he was ahead in the fitness stakes doesn't make me a idiot

I think the main reason Naves played is because he has the workrate and energy to match the Spurs full backs which is one of their main threats.
