I think the main reason Naves played is because he has the workrate and energy to match the Spurs full backs which is one of their main threats.
That, I wasn't even that surprised to see Navas play. It din't work but it was hardly a mistake.

Personally i had Navas and Fernando to start in my team, the real surprise was that they weren't taken off earlier as both of them were not working out and it was easy to see that early on..

Sane is world class - can't wait for him to start regularly.

He's so good that he's confused Arlo White (NBC lead commentator in the USA) into calling Liverpool's excellent Mane, "Sane," on more than one occasion - hilarious.

Both are great players - but our "S"ane is far better than Pool's "M"ane ever will be.

Hearing he's pulled out of the German u-21s due to his hamstring injury
Hoping its allah sterling and a precaution and not a relapse of original injury

Call me selfish but I'm delighted to see City players being pulled from international squads for little niggles. The rags have been doing this for years but we've been too accommodating, the likes of Silva, Kompany and de Bruyne have suffered injuries on international duty.

It's no surprise to me that we had a good patch of form just after a significant number of players left out of international squads in the last break. The more players left at the CFA the better. If Sane can have two good weeks working with Pep before the Everton match then we might just get to see the best of him.

Thought he looked very impressive in the small time he was on the pitch against Spurs. Can see him starting against Everton, missing the Barca game then starting away at Southampton and in the derby.

Don't think Navas was picked ahead of his for his huge work rate & defensive contribution, which i believe is a myth.

15/16
Sane - 33 appearances, 44 tackles, 29 interceptions, 27 headed duels won, 8 clearances, 1 block

Navas - 34 appearances, 24 tackles, 21 interceptions, 9 headed duels won, 14 clearances, 0 blocks

Navas is very good at retaining the ball and once Sane is fully fit and settled that's the only reason I would pick/bring Navas on over him to see out games etc.
