It didn't feel much like it at the time, but this summer's acquisitions have been amazing!! Why it didn't feel like that this summer for me was the fact we were keeping many players I considered past it like Kolarov, Zabaleta, Toure etc. I was also gutted that we sent Nasri out on loan because I think he'd thrive in this environment, but fair play to Pep & Txiki, we certainly seemed to have stepped up to the mark this transfer window. We have an absolutely astounding plethora of young talents coming through, many of which have their nation's hopes pinned on them. Genuine wonderkids.
England: Sterling, Stones, Roberts
Brazil: Gabriel Jesus
Germany: Sané
Turkey: Ünal
Nigeria: Iheanacho
Colombia: Moreno
Ukraine: Zinchenko
Spain: Brahim
Add to that other uber talented youngsters like Aleix Garcia (who I think will become a world class deep lying playmaker), Manu Garcia, Maffeo, Angeliño, Adarabioyo, Denayer, Gunn, Faupala, Celina, Sancho, Kigbu, Foden, Diallo, Lorenzo Gonzalez and Colin Rosler. It's really quite mad. We even have one each of Ireland and Australia's biggest hopes in Aaron Mooy and Jack Byrne.
If even a third of these players reach their potential we'll have ourselves a footballing and marketing GOLDMINE.
The future's bright. The future's blue.
IMO you're slightly underestimating him, to say the least, mate. Maybe I'm mistaken, you never know with these youngsters, but for now I reckon him the most talented player in our squad. Watched him for the whole last season, he's had become my favourite European prospect a few months before the first signs of City' interest. He's much more than just a pure winger potentially, very messi-esque with his skills and movement. His close ball-control is exceptional, Sterling is nowhere near, though I agree that Raheem is more mature and experienced atm.Offers a direct threat from the wings which is great to see. Great ball control, pace and dribbling and we know that he can finish as well. Basically, he's a Sterling in the making. We need to give him a full game to see what level he is at now.
Fair enough since you have seen him much more than me. Indeed, in his brief cameo against the Germans I liked his play more so than Sterling's, but was hesitant to give him too much praise. Either way, can't wait to see him against Swansea.IMO you're slightly underestimating him, to say the least, mate. I think he's the only player who does more nutmegs than Messi (though I'm not sure about the stats) :)
I imagine that'll happen midweek.Give him a start already Pep!
