Leroy Sane - 2018/2019 performances

Absolutely was not terrible tonight. Midfield let him down with late passes (hence all the offside runs) or kept pinning him to the touch line with nowhere to go (exacerbated by the fact that Everton had little to worry about on the right because Bernardo should not be on the wing over there, so they know everything’s going down the left).

Hope Sane was subbed for rotation purposes. We have no better front three than him + aguero/Jesus + sterling...and he’s one of the few who can singlehandedly change a match with a moment of individual brilliance or crazy pace (esp at the end of matches when defenders tire). In fact I hope all the subbing is a longer term strategy of peps to keep him fresh for deep runs in all the competitions.

Think people are way too hard on him.

I'd say he absolutely was terrible. Not just mistimed his runs but his touch was appalling. Don't think people are being too hard on him at all, he's generally this places' golden boy and can't do no wrong. If Mahrez would've put up a performance like he did tonight there would've been 10 new pages in here after the game. Hopefully he gets a start against Chelsea and show his true level but wouldn't surprise me if he's benched for Bernardo/Sterling.

I, conversely, believe people are way too lenient with him.

There is nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade sometimes, no matter what shirt they were. Now, off to the Walker thread to see who let him down...

Once he gave that early pass away, I was worried. You can just tell early when he's going to be crappy from the first minute.

But he turned it around and had an average outing. So 50/50

His touch, particularly in the first half was well off. Not sure what you mean with Bernardo shouldn't be on the wing as he is a constant threat over there

That is currently a very strong combo

Think some of you might be choosing the wrong words. A little off tonight but I hope to see him in the starting 11 vs chelsea
