Better than Van Dijk , no question
I'd say he absolutely was terrible. Not just mistimed his runs but his touch was appalling. Don't think people are being too hard on him at all, he's generally this places' golden boy and can't do no wrong. If Mahrez would've put up a performance like he did tonight there would've been 10 new pages in here after the game. Hopefully he gets a start against Chelsea and show his true level but wouldn't surprise me if he's benched for Bernardo/Sterling.Absolutely was not terrible tonight. Midfield let him down with late passes (hence all the offside runs) or kept pinning him to the touch line with nowhere to go (exacerbated by the fact that Everton had little to worry about on the right because Bernardo should not be on the wing over there, so they know everything’s going down the left).
Hope Sane was subbed for rotation purposes. We have no better front three than him + aguero/Jesus + sterling...and he’s one of the few who can singlehandedly change a match with a moment of individual brilliance or crazy pace (esp at the end of matches when defenders tire). In fact I hope all the subbing is a longer term strategy of peps to keep him fresh for deep runs in all the competitions.
Think people are way too hard on him.
I, conversely, believe people are way too lenient with him.Absolutely was not terrible tonight. That is currently a very strong comboI'd say he absolutely was terrible. Not just mistimed his runs but his touch was appalling.
