Les Chapman - Tales of Blue

I wonder if part of Mancini’s gripe with Marwood was simply to do with ability, ie, Mancini was from the top footballing echelons, Marwood was good, but nothing special. Mancini probably thought, “What the fuck can you tell me about football? Now do your job and go get me the 2/3 players we need to keep evolving”
“Scott Who?”
The players City brought in after winning the league felt like Bobby Manc was being stitched up. Cutting your nose off to spite your face so to speak, so at the end of the Season he would be sacked.

Signings were all late in the window, think Rodwell was first signing that summer and announced the day we played Chelsea in charity shield at Villa Park. Not sure any of the 2012 summer signings could be deemed as successes although Nastasic did look promising.

Losing out on Van Persie to sign the dross we did that season did make you wonder.

Bit of a myth.
Apart from. 2 games, one where he came on as a sub he was out of sorts.
Brilliant though in Mancini's last season though.
Hat trick against Norwich....lay off to Nasri against Chelsea etc No myth. He got us back in it.

He really wasn't. He wanted De Rossi & van Persie but the former didn't want to move and the latter was pretty well signed but Mancini was told he'd have to sell Balotelli or Dzeko to accommodate him. We had an offer for Balotelli but Mancini wouldn't agree to let him go. That's how pig-headed he was.

Whether we should have made the second-rate signings we made is another question entirely, but we didn't stitch Mancini up.

We didn't exactly back him to the hilt after the title win either did we?
