Lescott and Garcia Partnership

Whoever is responsible for not securing another centre-back to replace Kolo needs a rocket. It's a position in which we struggled on several occasions last season due to Kompany being injured a lot and for us to not recognise that is poor planning.
I'm made up with who we have brought in and once they're firing I'm excited about the rest of the season, but it doesn't take away from the fact that one of our priorities should have been top quality cover for Vinny/Nasty. To be left in a position of pairing Garcia and Lescott is indefensible.
The funny thing today is that they weren't directly at fault for any of our goals, but you could sense a mile off how uncomfortable they were with cardiffs direct approach.
I'll be concerned if we don't bring somebody in before the window closes, I have a horrible feeling that Kompany and Richards are going to miss more games than we think this year due to niggling injuries.

Couldnt agree more, poor planning,VK is vital and to not have a back up is mind blowing.I always think if the back 2 pairing & goalie are not confident it spreads through the team.

I'd like to know why '6 foot 2 inch' Joleon Lescott was stood on the goalline for their third goal , whilst '5 foot 9 inch' Pablo Zabaleta was a few yards attempting to out-jump Frasier Campbell???

I said the same thing. I'd love to know the thinking behind it. Imo it comes from not being organised.

if either play with Kompany or Nastasic at a push, they look much better. together they have no pace at all and look vulnerable to pacey attacks.

They did, yet it was 2 corners and follow up to a saved shot with plenty of other players around that was our downfall. I don't blame either of them for any of the goals, it was more to do with piss poor organisation and Hart not commanding the area.

We are playing everyman for himself judging by today's showing, teamwork required,, very difficult without our leader

Are we playing zonal marking or man to man now?
Not sure to be honor, it looks like zonal marking without enough pace.
When we played 3 defensive line we need pace to cover wide space. When we play high defensive line this season we need defender pace to cover deep.

Wasn't criticising you pal, on any other given day this would be shown up with a goal. Didn't help Garcia playing out of position that Zaba was told to bomb forward.
