Lescott would be a good signing for us, if Terry doesn't join us then we'll need at least one other defender to sign. Lescott on his own won't be enough to bolster our defence.
Who else would you lot want ?

Lucio as well
Westermann

Everton manager David Moyes has again reiterated that none of his players will be leaving Goodison Park this summer.

Speaking at a forum for the Club’s shareholders, Moyes said players would only leave Everton on his say-so, referring to comments he made at the end of last season.

And as part of the forum the manager was asked about speculation linking Manchester City with the signing of Joleon Lescott.

He replied: “I said there will be no players sold at Everton and I don’t feel I need to say any more. The board have never sold a player from me – it will only be at my discretion. I said it at the end of the season and I don’t need to say any more.”

The manager also revealed that he may well target talented young players as part of his strategy of improving the Club on all levels.

He also explained that he was all too aware of the impact European football will have on his squad next term.

“We will be bringing in people and maybe not people who I would think are first team players; maybe squad players, Bosmans to build up the squad to cope with things like that (Europe)," said Moyes.

“Often in Europe, when you come back after the mid-week game it is that game where you can struggle,” he continued. “We need more than 12 or 13 players at that level.”

So there you go ... Lescott's staying ... end of story

Yep thats told us! We best move on lads pmsl

bill kenright saying if moyes dosnt want to sell then that will be final.....

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has reiterated Manchester City target Joleon Lescott is not for sale.

Lescott has been strongly linked with a move away from Goodison Park this summer with cash-rich City thought to be lining up a bid for the England international.

Kenwright insists no one at Everton is for sale and that Toffees boss David Moyes will make the final decision on any transfers.

"You heard what he [Moyes] said and he said it right at the start of the summer - 'none of my players are going' and I think all of this speculation doesn't do anyone any favours," Kenwright told Sky Sports News.

"David Moyes, and only David Moyes I promise you, will make the decisions on the playing staff at this football club.

"He said, and he means it, nobody is for sale."

The game changes somewhat if/when JL says to Moyes - I want to go to City, let me speak to them please. Or does a Gallas and says 'If you don;t let me go I'll score an own goal!'

We'll soon see if he's not for sale when he requests to leave and they have 15 million knocking at there door.

Doubt that penny-pinching bindipper will turn it down then!

I think we need to BTOOTW with a 20m take it or leave it offer. Whilst Lescott would be a huge loss, Moyes needs to strengthen other areas of the team and that 20m will help considerably.

I've finally come round to the idea that the money City are spending isn't mine, so I'm all up for paying whatever it takes. Do we need Lescott? Yes. Do we want Lescott? Yes. Then just dazzle the bin-dipping paupers with pound signs. At some point they will cave in.

The actual cost of players is now completely irrelevant to me. It's all about whether we need and want a player.
