Thats bollocks, Bill Kenwright never stops harping on about investment. We were doing just fine before Thaksin and ADUG came we still had a greater turnover than Everton and better players coming through such as Ireland, Richards, Nedum etc so come on be serious.

Do you honestly feel trophies won over 20 years ago have any bearing on whether a club is 'big' or not now? Seriously? Try having that conversation with a Forest fan, they'll soon put you right. What either of our clubs won over 2 decades ago is entirely irrelevant when considering their worldwide standing at present. Football has changed beyond all recognition in that time.
As for being "forever in United's shadow", that's a tad rich when you consider your far more successful neighbours. Glass houses and stones la.

We won the lottery thats for sure, we are very very fortunate to now be in the position that we find ourtselves.
As a club, our fans have suffered more than most but I dont want us to turn into a smug bastard club and become all cocky towards other clubs and their fans apart from the rags. Obviously.
What sets us apart is our humility, our sense of humour and our loyalty. How many other fans would have started singing boring boring Arsenal after just conceding the fourth after 20 odd minutes (Maine Road 2001 I think). Or "invented" the inflatible craze.
At the moment, I think there is still a lot of genuine goodwill towards us from fans of other clubs, an Arsenal fan on talksport tonight said as much and alluded to the shite that we have had to put up with over the years.
I dread to think where the fuck we may be now had first Frank and then ADUG not invested in us.

Most clubs operate at a loss but our turnover was greater than Evertons back then.

I genuinely hope most of these Everton fans go back to a forum of their own once Lescott signs. They have shown over the course of this thread that they can well dish it out, but get themselves all self-righteous and twisted when given a bit of stick back. Frankly, they come across as dour, myopic, and hypocritical as their **** of a manager...
