No, in fact you're wrong. We're not even attempting to purchase the freehold. I'm well aware we don't own the stadium, if we had owned it then it would have been an asset that ADUG would have had to purchase when they bought us out. As it's owned by the council they didn't have to buy it, all they have to due is abide by the agreement already in place regarding gate receipts etc. Hence they get a football team who can play in a 48,000 seat state of the art stadium, and they didn't have to pay a penny for it.

We won the lottery thats for sure, we are very very fortunate to now be in the position that we find ourtselves.
As a club, our fans have suffered more than most but I dont want us to turn into a smug bastard club and become all cocky towards other clubs and their fans apart from the rags. Obviously.
What sets us apart is our humility, our sense of humour and our loyalty. How many other fans would have started singing boring boring Arsenal after just conceding the fourth after 20 odd minutes (Maine Road 2001 I think). Or "invented" the inflatible craze.
At the moment, I think there is still a lot of genuine goodwill towards us from fans of other clubs, an Arsenal fan on talksport tonight said as much and alluded to the shite that we have had to put up with over the years.
I dread to think where the fuck we may be now had first Frank and then ADUG not invested in us.

I have had no quarms with city in the past, infact I think both clubs can relate in terms of being in the shadow of other clubs within their cities....All the bravado of were going to be this and that is too far feched for me...You have had major investment for the past 3 seasons and yet you have done nothing...

If you want our best defender, who I consider to be one of the best in the world in the next couple of seasons, you will have to cough up. Not only is he versatile(CB,LB) he also scores goals. Name any other defender in the world that gives you that, who would be available for 15m....theres isn't one. if glenn johnson is worth 17m Lescott is worth 25m at least and you cannot say taht terry is worth double what lescott is worth...not a chance...Lescott is a great player and if you sign him I wish him the best of luck...But you won't get him for any less than 25m I can guarantee that.

Really? And you know this how? Everytime the issue has been remotely raised to Cook or anyone associated with City the response has been "we're not looking into that, it doesn't make financial sense to change the current situation"
