hmmm, some people seem to be working on the assumption that getting hangeland would be any easier, or cheaper. my reading is that everton may have found the prices for replacements more expensive than they initially thought. how do we know fulham wouldn't want 19m for hangeland? (who, btw is slower, less powerful, doesn't score goals, isn't english, and isn't left footed)

Not being able to get Mido was embarrassing, plowing money into Samaras was embarrassing, the often over looked deal with Velouso (£5 million didn't play once) was embarrassing...

Paying (admittedly) alot of money for Lescott who is proven in this division to be able to handle two defensive positions, both in which we are weak in, PLUS adding 4-7 goals a season from set pieces is good business.... Plus still being at an age where he will improve........

No matter how many bids we put in.... this is not embarrassing.

Embarassing might be a tad strong.

Look at Madrid, they bid, it gets rejected, the player hands in a request and they do business. No tapping up they just use player power and wrap their deals up quick. If Lescott wanted to come he should have said so by now, and should be moving on.

I don't understand this whole preparing rumours...

Firstly, who is leaking all this info, because I have never seen a city deal aired this much in public before with exact fees etc given to all the news sources...

Secondly, why does a bid have to be prepared, surely at this stage there is nothing to prepare, should be as simple as changing the number on the piece of paper and updating the date and faxing it through ready for rejection.
