For the deal to happen it will need a transfer request from the player himself.

Reading between the lines the MUEN's backpage was aimed at nudging the player into this, doesn't he live over here, Bowdon or something like that, if he doesn't request the transfer then we move on, Everton are skint they also inserted a sell-on of 10% to Wolves so that's why i think £25M will be the figure.

Thats always been the case. He needs to make the decision personally - if he comes to us, he will become Englands first choice partner for JT. If he stays, Everton will slip down the league this year (no early season Jag, Arteta and waffer thin squad) and he is under threat for his world cup place from Upson, Jag etc. Simple choice, stay wih your chums and mediocrity, or come here and take off.
Lescott will not be taking Ferdinands place in the England team any time soon.

Thank you for putting forward such an eqloquent , reasoned argument . I'm sure that my fellow blues will upon carefull consideration, realise the error of our ways and switch allegiances to Everton FC , who have won the sum total of NOTHING in the past 15years, whose stadium is a joke to match the club finances which are broke. Lastly not forgetting the 'class' which seems to be a recurring theme with your 'missing link' supporters. This class was demonstrated by your supporters spitting at Robinho, our world class footballer the likes of which you can NEVER dream of signing.

On second thoughts, we'll stick with City so trot along now.

£20M CITY BID LANDS LESCOTT
Joleon Lescott 1st August 2009 By David Woods
MANCHESTER CITY are close to completing a move for Joleon Lescott after Everton made a shock bid for Arsenal flop Philippe Senderos.

Why don't we just get Senderos and spend the rest on someone else.

We should of course not go for Senderos. Why do you say such a thing? And what do you mean by "the rest"? There is plenty of cash available for the boss to spend, and if he feels like we need another right back, another centre half in addition to Lescott and a great squad player for the central midfield, then the cash is available to spend. I really hope that Hughes understands that we still need some more additions to our squad if we can land Lescott. 20m is not outrageous, it is not 35m or some similar crazy figure.

You're right Somud - another of my many rubbish posts. I was thinking he would be cover for Ned & Dunnie if no-one else materialised. He's big, young, left-sided (also slow unfortunately) but not as good a bet as Ricster's pick http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dmytro_Chyhrynskyi

In a perfect world we should also get players for the positions you mention & it is a perfect world isn't it?

Not so long ago you were in the 2nd division scraping a side together.

Now you arrogant fucking inbreads think you can just wave your money around and everyone will come running.

Read your posts back you arrogant fucks!

Just think, there may be a chance that Lesctt doesn't want to sign for you and is quite happy where he is.

City are a fucking discrace at the moment and it looks like the fans are catching up
