how far do u go back in terms of historical success just out of interest before it becomes an invalid point

My word - that post was from weeks ago and I was taking the michael. That post didnt belong on this board and should have been pulled and I was being sarcastic with that comment

For starters what you are saying is rubbish, we are a much better supported side, better attendances, bigger fan base much better facilities in a much bigger city.

Everton have done better in the league over the last few years so what they havent really achieved much over the last 30 years just like us. Are we classing finishing 5 opposed to mid table as success these days ? That really is sad.

Also they have got this so called success by playing some of the worst football the league has seen since Wimbledon.

And at this stage they dont have the ground, they dont have the support and now we have some proper finance behind us over the next few years we will have the better success as well.

So no Everton are not a bigger club than us, they never have been and never will be and if you cant see how your comments would wind some of us up well there is not much point in arguing about it.

Probably within recent times - personally I use my memory. I'm 29 and realistically remember stuff from around the mid 80's. Older people I guess use a wider timescale

....really?

it wasnt a dig at you john just me wondering out loud really, just when people say we have no history blah blah im just curious how far people deem to go before its pointless

Everton have been more successful over the last 20-30 years but they certainly are not bigger, if we measure it on success over this period then Nottingham Forst are bigger than both.

Agreed. It's like those that have a downer on the manager. I don't get that either. If you support a club, you get behind it lock, stock and barrel. Board, manager, players, tea lady, programme sellers, even the ticket office. Simple.

If you think the tea lady leaving is best for the club then it is right that you say so. I didn't post what I did in support of the club, I did it because I believed in what I said.

Not much value in an opinion that is based on what someone else thinks or does IMO.

Nottingham Forst are bigger than both.

Exactly if you go off recent success in the sort of period discussed. And Leeds, Blackburn etc. If Leeds and Forest were in the Premier League now would people class them as bigger as Everton ? Of course they would.

Nothing side from a nothing city.

How old are you - just out of interest - not taking the michael.

Everton have been in Europe a few times albeit unsucessful, they haven't been out of the top flight whereas we have, they have finished in the top half more than us and have won a few things in the last 30 years where we haven't. Also attendences don't count for much in my book and if you want to go into it then look at %%% of capacity.

I don't want to go on and on why Everton are a bigger club because they won't be for much longer, and Lescott demanding a move to come to us is a big step as well because players only usually do that to go to the "Big" 4.

What I'm getting at is lets finish above Everton Villa Spurs etc, win a few cups, get to a few finals and then its not even an argument. All this we are better than you business when we havent even played a game with our new team is a getting a touch ahead of ourselves - what if we don't gel?? We are in for a lot of stick if that happens.
