Problem Moyes has is the possible negative effect it could have on the player. If a player says he wants to go will he give 100%, professional or not ?.

Hughes should just recall jo if Moyes continues this stance, and push up the price of every player they want to sign.
I really don't understand why we would have allowed him to go to them until this Lescott thing was settled.

agreed. it's so bloody obvious we should have used jo as a bargaining chip. unless hughes was really so desperate to get him out of the door for the season.

let them keep him. MH obvously doesn't want him- so let him be invaluable to Everton (not to the point that they finish above us , mind), but let him become their best striker and put 30 goals away, let him become a fans favourite, and then when they want to make his move permanent slap a £40 million price tag on him- just coz we can.

Thank god people are now saying this.

When we loaned him orginally I got slated for saying it was madness letting him go to a side we are in direct competition with without a gurantee we would get something in return.

I hope there is a recall and we use it.

I doubt that our pursuit of Lescott would be as fierce if we had got Terry.

The deals have never and have no reason to be linked.

Jo would have gone on loan either way, likely was placed on loan market list by Hughes early on, much like the other strikers that have gone out this summer. Everton made an enquiry and obviously Jo was happy enough to go there (player decision comes into this to). This was to the davantage of all parties in the transaction and agreed.

Now, just because said team took Jo on loan, does not mean that City have free access to any of their players. It just doesn't work like that.

Despite all the ITK garbage, no deal was ever talked about which included Lescott, Everton have always made their position on Lescott 100% clear, no way. The bids were put in much later and Everton declined them which they have every right to do.

Lescott signed a contract with Everton and it is 100% their right to hold on to him, even if he wants out.

I has now become a case of whether it needs to get nasty, with Lescott simply refusing to play, however in a World Cup Year i'd say this is unlikely.
