MUEN are saying swap deal with Jo + cash

I don't think Jo or Micah will be part of any deal unless the cash is at least £15m on it's own merits plus the player .
Maybe £20mill plus Jo / Micah on loan , but I'm hoping for £25mill before City walk away .

Hahahahahahahahahahhahaha....seriously.... get out of here.

How good is Richards ?
Be honest btw , as after all , it's not me that's buying anyone .

He can be the next superstar England defender.

I think Hughes tried to change him into a wing back last season, and that hurt us whilst he adapted. I think he'll have a fantastic season with us next year.

Re: official move for Lescott today...

Richards?

He was frustrating last season to be honest. He wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination but the criticism levelled @ him on here was harsh to say the least. They made him sound like Hitler because he made a few mistakes. Micah has the potential to be absolutely phenomenal, but that's all it is at the moment. He had a cracking start to first team life but he seemed to have levelled out a bit more now and he'll develop more and more as his career progresses. People seem to forget he is only 20 years old and still a kid, yet the expectancy is there simply because of the ability he has displayed.

I'd back him to still come good for us. He's a fantastic athlete and if he could improve his game in terms of positionally i.e. where he should be at certain times and keeping with his man, then he could be an England regular and @ the heart of the England defence when smackhead and Terry call it a day.

You'd be getting the better part of the deal if he was involved with £15,000,000 +

Richards is a player that really has me confused and I think that speaks volumes. He's certainly got all the attributes and has shown on plenty of occasions he has the potential to be world class but he also has been prone to glaring positional errors and can at times seem a little lacking in his efforts to recover and defend. Id say he has reached the standard to get into any prem team from 6th to 12th, the question now is can he fulfill that potential and go on to become a top 4 player, we all know he could the question is if he will.

He will be better than Lescott.

agreed
i think £15million + jo on loan is realistic and fair richards +£15million is just ridiculous and a great loss to us.

Re: official move for Lescott today...

As much as you rate Richards , you have to understand it's City who want to push a deal , and Everton rate Lescott too .

You can't really expect to get 50% of one of the best full back partnerships out there without a little compromising .

£8-9 MILL + Jo is simply unrealistic .
Believing Richards to have shown the same quality as Lescott is admirable , but a little unrealistic too in the eyes of any Everton fan .
He was our player of the year last year , and beginning to stamp his mark on the England team . He plays left back just as well , and also offers a formidable attacking option .

Yes , Micah is young , and has already achieved a lot of acclaim , but Everton can't afford to take on a player that goes missing as much as Richards did last year as a replacement for one who doesn't ( at least not regularly ) .

At just under 28 , Lescott is already in his prime , and ready to go .
Richards has huge potential , but can Everton wait for that to come to fruition when they are on the verge of breaking the top 4 now ?

We lose Lescott , and with Jags already out , we are without leadership across the back line a little surely . Is Richards a leader ?

We won't do a straight swap in a month of Sundays .
We might settle for either player plus a large figure .
We might settle for a huge fee outright .
We might invest elsewhere and keep Lescott . ( best option for us ) .
