Article 17
Article 17 of FIFA's Regulations for the Status and Transfer of Players is entitled "Consequences of Terminating a Contract Without Just Cause", and is the fifth article of Chapter IV, "Maintenance of Contractual Stability between Professionals and Clubs". It outlines the provisions which apply if a contract is terminated without just cause, and the requirement for the party in breach to pay compensation.[9] Specifically, it states that any player who signed a contract before the age of 28 can buy himself out of the contract three years after the deal was signed. If he is 28 or older the time limit is shortened to two years.[10][11] Article 17 was introduced in December 2004, with effect from 1 July 2005

When did Lescott sign his latest deal at Everton??

FF's why doesnt Gollum just accept that Lescott does not want to play for them anymore, i thought they said they care about their players and staff once a player puts in a request it is clear he is unhappy at the club and want to move on FF's really starting to hate Gollum more and more :@

The only way Lescott will be leaving us is if you lot pay £30 million in cash, £22 million plus Jo or £18 million plus Jo and Onuoha.

No, that's not true. No-one is going to offer anything like those deals and Lescott has made his future at Everton untenable. He may not leave this Summer (although that is now looking likely) but he WILL leave, and for much less than the value of any of those deals.

england press conference should be interesting. A nice opportunity for JL to make his case.

You know what makes me laugh about all this? Your arrogance since you got a cash injection.

"Everton aren't on our level anymore"

Fair enough, you've got a few quid and you're buying up all sorts of players; but what the fuck have you done recently to justify being better than Everton in footballing terms? Weren't you in the third tier of English football about ten years ago?

The only way Lescott will be leaving us is if you lot pay £30 million in cash, £22 million plus Jo or £18 million plus Jo and Onuoha.

Yep and in those ten years we have been promoted 3 times and relegated once and yet here we are with the likes of Tevez, Robinho, Adebayor, Ireland, Barry, Toure RSC. Galling isnt it?! In those same ten years, you have been close to relegation, produced a style of football that is efficient but makes Bolton look like Brazil and are currently in regression with your best player demanding to join a club who were in division 2 only 10 years ago!

Want a tissue?

I'll give him two.

One for tears for Everton.
The other for the pleasure of City.

Hi all, back from my Holiday on Sunday and so back into work yesterday.......nothing to report really other than we have been working closely with Carlos Tevez and if all goes to plan will be fit to face Blackburn on Saturday. Craig Bellamy should also be fit as we have seen a good reaction to treatment in the last 24 hours or so. Kolo Toure will recover in time as there has been no significant problems since the initial injury on Saturday. As far as the Joleon Lescott saga goes theres nothing new to add other than the club will be asking Everton for medical information tomorrow morning and so Wednesday could well be an important day. Will keep you posted if we recieve clearence to view the information.

Cheers for that Stu.....
