Lescott to me is a £12-15M player in all honesty. And the first bid was one that was fair.

However it's never going to be accepted by Everton because they:

1) dont want to sell
2) dont need to sell
3) have Jagielka out for a long time
4) have Yobo off to Africa in January

So you can definitely understand the premium we would need to pay. And it's not even a City tax in this case

I think this is spot on.

You can't put a value on the price of a top class defence...30, 40, 100 million. A poor defence will cost you more than 30 million it may cost you your job and a champion league place.
But....if you look at transfer fees, people do put a value on it and it's more often than not less than goalscorers, when was the last time a defender held the British transfer record?

Get a grip £20 is a very generous offer and Everton will accept it, maybe even £18m if Lescott pops in the transfer request and shows he really wants to play for us.

I see Jo scored a brace yesterday, is there anyway we can recall him? because why the fcuk are we loaning them a player who will more than likely score 10 or 15 maybe even 20 goals for them and they're not willing to do a deal for Lescott?

If they don't want to sell for any price fair enough, give us £10-12 million for Jo or do one.

We scratch their back they...well we we're still itching.

Fuck Everton & Lescott, why should we fund their transfer window by giving them twice as much as the player is actually worth, sick of hearing Shitwright bleating how he needs investment into his club, who in their right mind would invest in Everton after all haven't we helped them out with Jo (or perhaps not) time to move on plenty of other cental defenders available when you have the sort of money we have.

£30 million is a joke. For me he is a good player but nothing special.. Would rather pay £12 on upson that spend £20+ on Lescott.

upson is the better player anyway,i'd go back to everton for arteta, good lad to have around for the carling cup, dont want to risk stevie ireland.

agreed lads, i wouldn't give everton no way near 30 mill, i reckon will get him for around 20, if they ask for more, we'll walk away and rightly so in imo

You got investment, twice, and were in a worse position than we are now.

We wont get investment because of bk alone
