Lescott has apparantly dismissed speculation today according to the radio , but we'll see .

As for playing for England , it's not unusual for players to get a bit nervy untill their feet are well and truly under the table .

I thought Andys assessment was a fair one .
Last season wasn't as good as the one before , but it was a decent season for him all the same , and probably only diminished in stature due to the emergence of Jagielka and Baines .

He is a Brummy after all so will never be perfect lmao .

Forgive me if this point has already been made but I think with regard to some of the premier leagues players, that are in the England set up we need to take into account the fact that some of them may well be thinking further down the line than the forthcoming season, and indeed the world cup. I mean that settled players such as Barry , Lescott etc have managers in place that have been at their respective clubs for some time (and therefore have some form of stability) have been linked to take over from YOU KNOW WHO when he retires. should this be in the not too distant future then that could mean less stability at the club if they leave, which IMHO would disrupt any club and the continuity of a teams/individuals performance, thus promoting a risk to playing international football.

I doubt footballers are intelligent enough to plan ahead lmao .
Lets face it ; they play well at one club ; gain a reputation ; move on ; disappear into the shaddows all too often .
The lure of playing for the top teams and winning trophies is so blinkered , that many are prepared to give up a regular first team place and sit on the bench of another simply to gain a medal if they are fortunate enough .

In my opinion , Barry won't keep his place once City's ball starts rolling ( presuming it will ) .
They'll eventually sign other players , and he'll disappear into the myre .

Lescott risks the same to a degree , if he moves , though he'll probably have more chance of keeping afloat there than Barry . Barry will end up as a highly paid cover for a big buy eventually , and will wish he had stayed put .
Only my opinion though .

OK - at the fear of being ridiculed.......here's what i heard today from a ITK close to the club...

Lescott deal is done and will be announced as soon as this weeks Internationals are over
All deals will be done within a 3-week period, this is from Bluesy himself
A "big" signing will be announced this week, as its already done (vague i know!)
The transfer budget is 400Million

Apoligies if these have already done the rounds, but i am merely sharing with you all what i was told today....

Any updates from your source since (almost) a week ago? He didn't get much right out of that lot, two 'done deals' and we've heard nothing??
