Who do we hate any more than the rags? Only Arsenal come close... oh, is it Arsenal? I wouldn't mind too much, just make sure they pay 25% on top like we have to.

If he went Arsenal I would wish him all the best and give him a big clap when he returns.

If he went rags I would be really, really disappointing in him. I honestly don't think Lescott would go to the rags but i'll let Seosa tell me the rumour if he's kind enough.

Re: Lescott on his way.....

Surely if we don't want him he's entitled to go anywhere he's wanted.
Unless of course we refuse to sell to a particular club and that has vermin
crawling all over it.
If he's not wanted he's entitled to do what's best for him.
He's a champion and an FA cup winner, he's done ok for us and
we've done ok for him. I hope he stays but if he doesn't i wish him well.

Re: Lescott on his way.....

If he goes I think it could be to Liverpool. That'd make him pretty unpopular, but with his old club, not us! I'd rather we kept him though, still a top class central defender and with Vinny's propensity for picking up injuries we need cover there.

Mancini is reluctant to play to left footed players at CB and it diden´t work out to well against Liverpool so I can see his reasoning for it.

Regarding JL´s future, I can´t see him staying beyond the season, he has ambition of playing for England and he won´t be picked if he sits on the bench which he´ll as long as Nasty is here. He has high wages and the Barca boys are looking to slash the wagebill and his age doesen´t help neither, so for those reasons I think he´ll be sold.

Liverpool rumoured here: <a class="postlink" href="http://miusoccer.com/liverpool-join-race-for-man-city-star/10956" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://miusoccer.com/liverpool-join-rac ... star/10956</a>

Re: Lescott on his way.....

Keep him. No need to buy a CB IMO our defence is solid enough, last 3 seasons show that. 4 CB's kompany, nasty, Richards and lescott good combination for me.

Re: Lescott on his way.....

We need Joleon against teams like Stoke and Newcastle who go long as he's rarely beaten in the air. Simple as that. He's of an age now where he can be a squad player for us and still play twenty games a season. Lescott must stay.

Re: Lescott on his way.....

Joleon Lescott admits he may have to leave Manchester City in the summer to safeguard his World Cup ambitions.

The prospect of John Terry coming out of international retirement would only increase competition in England’s central defence and Lescott says it was a ‘reality check’ to be left out of Roy Hodgson’s squad for the qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro in March. Michael Dawson’s injury then earned him a late call-up.

With City unlikely to offer him a new deal as he enters the final 12 months of his contract, Lescott admitted he is concerned how that could affect his chances of making England’s World Cup squad.

Lescott played alongside Terry in all four of England’s games at Euro 2012, but City’s 2-1 win over West Ham on Saturday was only his 14th Premier League start this season — five more than Terry at Chelsea.

Lescott said: ‘It would be tough to have another season like this. I’ve only started a few games and that is not great going into a World Cup.

‘I only got in the last squad by default. It was a reality check. I need to make a decision and it needs to be the right one for my career.

‘You can’t expect to play for England if you’re not playing for your club. I believe that if I’m playing at a consistent level I can retain my place in the England team. I’m sure John Terry feels the same. He hasn’t played much for his club, either. Probably only Phil Jagielka is playing regularly at the moment.’

Lescott’s partnership with Vincent Kompany was key to City’s title win last season, but the £22million signing from Everton has since been overtaken by Serbian Matija Nastasic. Lescott, 30, still thinks he has a lot to offer if next month’s FA Cup final proves to be his last game for City.

‘Your best years as a centre half are between 28 and 32,’ he added. ‘I’m not naive enough to think I’m definitely going to stay. If I can say I’ve won two FA Cups, the Premier League and a Community Shield at City it wouldn’t be too bad, would it?’
