Lescott

Let's just keep the lads together that we have at this time they ain't doin to bad, any changes should be made in the summer

Even though we need to buy at least one centre back, I actually think a centre midfielder is more important for this squad. Garcia is a steady player but there is a big drop in our midfields quality when Toure and/or Fernandinho are missing. Rodwell isn't fit most of the time and he is in the vicous circle of needing games to get match fit and oust Garcia from the squad never mind the other two midfielders.

If we had a Pogba or Vidal (Matuidi, Gundogan, etc) type of quality player then I dare say we could sell Garcia and Rodwell could be given time in games we had already won so we can introduce him gradually to the team and see if he is good enough to help us attain the targets we want.

We need three top quality central midfielders who are more defensive but can support the attack when needed. I don't buy into the idea we can't keep three top class midfielders happy. We need a midfielder in his prime, in his mid twenties who can drop in and out of the side and rotate with Yaya and Fernandinho, basically someone a bit better than Javi Garcia, who is much improved but who isn't a game changer like the two current first choice players.

As for Lescott, unless we find a top quality centre back then he will stay with us until the summer. We are currently playing two games a week and we need four centre backs. In the summer his contract will be up and he can be released, I hope Txiki and Pellegrini between them can scout a top class centre back to replace Lescott.

I wouldn't let Lescott go . I still think Lescott are best centre back next to Kompany .
He's the 3rd choice LCB and no he isn't the best partner for vk not by a long shot

As often posted would be crazy for us to let him go in January given the injury history of Nasty , VK and Martin ( all had two periods of significant periods on the sidelines this year ) unless a better , younger replacement that can go straight into the first eleven is already on their way.

Doesn't make much sense for the player himself either at this time of the season given what he could achieve this season and given his likelihood of significant game time for the rest of the season.

This man talks sense

Looks like Lescott wants out.

Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott wants to join Beşiktaş according to NTV Spor.

"I don't know if I will be playing against West Ham United or not," Lescott told NTV Spor.

"After the game my agent will have a meeting with [Manuel] Pellegrini to discuss my future and ask for permission to join another club.

"I want to play football and join Beşiktaş."

Lescott is free to speak to clubs this month, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Despite being closely linked with a move City boss Pellegrini has been reluctant to let Lescott leave the club.

"I repeat, when this transfer window is over at the end of January, we will see what happens. At the moment, Joleon will stay here with the team," Pellegrini said recently when asked about the future of the 31-year-old.

The England international has only made eight appearances for the Citizens this season and has only featured in one of City's last nine matches.

The 31-year-old defender joined City from Everton for £24 million in 2009 and has made 152 appearances for the Citizens.
