The Lady who stood in for him seemed to be genuinely enjoying herself and beamed ear to ear throughout the whole presentation. Can she get the big job next?
100% this ^I was watching her presenting the medals to the players and Pep. TBF to her she looked genuinely happy and pleased for Pep and the players. Smiling, laughing, and talking to the players. I sure Masters wouldn’t have been like that.
If I have lost a fight I wouldn't want to turn up and congratulate the winners especially a fight that could divest me of my job and reputation, Masters will be the fall guy in all this he knows it, they know itI think many are underestimating how big of a slight (and signal) Richard Masters choosing to attend the Arsenal match rather than ours actually was.
Was it particularly surprising? Not really.
But was it a fairly substantial indication of where things stand with him and the league re: the charges at this time? Absolutely.
And was it meant as a direct signal to those outside of the league and City’s battle? Yes, it was.
This was meant to send many messages to many entities, none of them positive for us.
In some ways, it was an escalation of the war.
And, whether or not he leaves in the summer, I think this was only one of many more aggressive volleys the club will be fielding soon.
There is a growing effort to not only isolate but completely discredit City as both a club and a business by the ever-expanding American ownership contingent within the league, spearheaded by the Arsenal and Liverpool ownership groups. It is becoming the dominant force within the league.
Masters being one of the first PL CEOs to essentially refuse to present the league winners with the trophy is just one of many more signals to come.
To be fair, I’d rather have them, especially Michael, then some random executive or personality.Seemed a bit strange the presentation, where was khaldoon and co? Dickov and the random guy in the hoodie made it look a bit underdone
A man that has incredibly tried to destroy the league's greatest asset, "unbelievable Jim"Or it could be the actions of a broken, beaten man.
As I said earlier in the thread, I think that was an element of the decision. But I don’t for a moment think that was the only element. If I have lost a fight I wouldn't want to turn up and congratulate the winners especially a fight that could divest me of my job and reputation, Masters will be the fall guy in all this he knows it, they know it
You’ve not read the Daily Telegraph today then? Bitter, spiteful, horrible newspaper.100% this ^
Last season Masters had a face like a smacked arse, he was a disgrace.
This lady smiled and genuinely and had the grace and decency to speak to the players and show genuine delighted in what they had achieved.
The tide is turning ladies and gents, again today Mr Jordan praising the club and the general press showing the respect we deserve.
I would imagine city’s top brass are not best pleased and hope fully ready to shove the pl trophy up masters arseI think many are underestimating how big of a slight (and signal) Richard Masters choosing to attend the Arsenal match rather than ours actually was.
