That’s exactly why Liverpool and United had the power of veto on his appointment and gave him the nod. He’s going to be the fall guy for sure.If I have lost a fight I wouldn't want to turn up and congratulate the winners especially a fight that could divest me of my job and reputation, Masters will be the fall guy in all this he knows it, they know it
We can only hope. I do agree with others that Masters is likely going to be the scapegoat when the charges are largely dismissed.I would imagine city’s top brass are not best pleased and hope fully ready to shove the pl trophy up masters arse
If Alison Brittain can remain impartial then I don't see it as an issue if she does get appointed. The Lady who stood in for him seemed to be genuinely enjoying herself and beamed ear to ear throughout the whole presentation. Can she get the big job next?
Could it be she's been given the nod ?If Alison Brittain can remain impartial then I don't see it as an issue if she does get appointed.
Although we are being lauded by many, unfortunately, the “115 charges tarnishes the achievement” narrative is coming up more this go round than last season. That is a function of the groundwork being done largely by the American ownership groups (primarily Liverpool, United, and Arsenal), both in the US and UK media and via social media campaigns within various fan bases.Big world outside some of the UK gutter press and we are been lorded.
God I hope you are wrong or exaggerating the threat. Another few years of this I could really do without. I knew Alison Brittain when she was at Lloyds Bank and only have positive perceptions. Thought she showed a great deal of grace yesterday. If you are right about the Americans, maybe they have picked on the wrong people.I think many are underestimating how big of a slight (and signal) Richard Masters choosing to attend the Arsenal match rather than ours actually was.
Was it particularly surprising? Not really.
But was it a fairly substantial indication of where things stand with him and the league re: the charges at this time? Absolutely.
And was it meant as a direct signal to those outside of the league and City’s battle? Yes, it was.
This was meant to send many messages to many entities, none of them positive for us.
In some ways, it was an escalation of the war.
And, whether or not he leaves in the summer, I think this was only one of many more aggressive volleys the club will be fielding soon.
There is a growing effort to not only isolate but completely discredit City as both a club and a business by the ever-expanding American ownership contingent within the league, spearheaded by the Arsenal and Liverpool ownership groups. It is becoming the dominant force within the league.
Masters being one of the first PL CEOs to essentially refuse to present the league winners with the trophy is just one of many more signals to come.
