Let's hear it for Edin Dzeko

Just another example of a player bought under the previous regime and proved a success scoring a number of crucial goals.

Replaced by a player for more money and proven to be a complete failure and waste of money.

Pretty much the story of our transfer dealings the past 5 years. You could add together the transfer fees received for Dzeko and Tevez and still not afford Bony. Quite incredible.

im sure our season would have been a lot better with edin in the team, weve sorely missed another striker this year, he provided goals when we needed them , and he would have given aguero some much needed assistance , terrible decision to let him go in my opinion

As for Edin - sorely missed this season. From equaliser vs Notts county to 2 goals at Everton away - he delivered vital goals when it mattered.

Him and yaya rarely failed to step up when it mattered most.

I was only thinking this the other day, Dzeko that is. The amount of shit he took, the absolute nonsense talked on here, and at the ground, about his abilities, or lack of. He was the best 2nd striker in the league, and we swapped him for Bony. For some reason, everyone seems to think we should have 2 x Aguero - we're fucking lucky to have one.

I'll always have good memories of him as a player.

Master of timing was edin. His finishing was top notch, even if he did miss the occasional sitter. But his touch, fuck me! Was it west hm away last year, i think he had 4 touches and lost it every time!

He could be frustrating to watch at times but at least he produced crucial goals all the time he was here. Bony is just frustrating to watch & doesn't ever score crucial goals. If I saw Edin coming off the bench, when we were chasing a game, I would think "we have a chance of turning this around. If I see Bony coming off the bench I think "we're fucked".
