Keep in mind Kane doesn't have a good loan experience yet he did become great later on.

Not saying Delap will be the same, but we need to be patient and all of this will be his learning experience even if he did not register a single goal for Stoke this season.

It is not the end of his footballing career, because he is still young and have plenty time to become a great player on his own right.

He might not be scoring but in terms of learning how to play against adults on a weekly basis it could be a good one, much like Nmecha’s loan at Preston at the same age (3 goals in 42 games).

No argument that he will be gaining experience,but,like McAtee,he could be gaining much more had a more suitable club been found.
Given Delaps pedigree,I would have expected a bit more than what Nmecha showed at the same stage and also,ultimately,a higher ceiling.

Why the obsession that the player need to be "successful" in loan spell at young age?

It doesn't matter if they have the bad loan spell, the worst of it kinds for their career development. If that means they can learn from it and be a better footballer later down on their career.

Being a professional footballer reaching to top of world football is very very tough, it doesn't matter if they are highly talented academy player like James McAtee or any of our academy loanee. If they can't handle it, then it will be very tough for them to make it to the top.

Read that VK didnt want the resposibilty take Delap on as he didnt think a 18 y old youngster should carry the burden for Burnley to score goals.

I reckon Delap will go on to have a successful career but not with us. Alvarez and Haaland have the front positions (injury permitting) sewn up for the next five or six years minimum. Unless of course Erling fucks off to Madrid (yawn, yawn).
