Was David Bowie for me. And I remember a JFK moment exactly where I was and when when I heard on the car radio that John Peel had died. These were formative people in music to us or me at the time anyway. This young lad will be the same for probably now 23 yr old lasses (ish) Im not sure exactly, but will be the first time theye had a death like this from their younger years that influenced them or wotnot

You can add "trashing his hotel room" to the checklist. Pretty sure I read that somewhere, and that the hotel manager had called the police.

Didn't she sing We Are The Champions at the semi? I remember the look of bewilderment on her face on the big screens when she got dog's abuse from our end!

Think she did the National Anthem at the Stoke final.

Although as an anti royalist I didn't actually see her sing as I remained seated.

Sad when anyone dies that young especially for those closest to them. I doubt I would have recognised him or his solo music as I'm not of his generation or music fan base.

But listening to some of the news article tributes yesterday morning, it seems he was one of the greatest recording artists of our time ? Can't believe I missed it all.
