Not Correct....actually we are going to do the dirty work for the Saudi Arabians (Sunni) who hate the heretic Shi'ites in Libya and Iran. Once Ghaddafi has gone he will be replaced by a leader of the Sunni faith.This is why the Middle east are backing this campaign.......don't see a call for us to intervene in Bahrain (Sunni ruled) do you?

This is how you keep the oil flowing.

Libya is a complex problem for Europe yes they have plenty of oil, which like it or not we need, but it has been one of the main conduits for illegal immigration from sub Saharan Africa, which has caused great problems in Spain and Italy.

Diplomacy can be a dirty buisiness and sometimes it is best to look the other way, like I said the west needs oil to function, it's your standard of living we are talking about here, and our economic future.

I also do not see a problem with having a democratic government in Libya, one where the oil revenues are spread around the populous, for the amount of oil that is in Libya the population should have the same living standards as the main Gulf countries

To have a no fly zone you have to Bomb the Air Defences & shoot down Libya"s planes that is War .it has Fu*k all to do with us & as we have all but disbanded the airforce it is going to be impossible for us to do without the Americans .God Help us .we had a no fly zone in the Balkans but still it did not stop thousands from dying .if it was not for the OIL Britain would not give a Fu*k what happens to the people of Libya .

thats because Saudi Troops are helping out in Bahrain....they are crapping themselves the same could happen to them.....like Bahrain the leaders may be Sunni but the majority of the people are shi'ites......let the shi'ites take over and you have another friend of Iran! Plus you have an American fleet stationed in Bahrain!

how are we going to do this dave ,AEW1 Sentries ZE104 (04 Sleepy) and ZE105 (05 Sneezy) were withdrawn from use Jan 2011 and now sit at Waddington;104 is looking very tatty and 105 is missing parts. a disbandment of 2 Tornado GR 4 squadrons,The Nimrod’s replacement, the RC-135W Rivet Joint, will not be available until 2014.which is older than the Nimrods .The two Nimrod R1 Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) aircraft in service with 51 Squadron at RAF Waddington were due to retired on March 31.also f.3 tornado completely withdrawn from service by March 31.what are we going to enforce it with a big stick.

you also don't see us involved in the Democratic Republic of Congo which has had a civil war raging for years


however our Government does send them £250,000 a week to make sure that the corrupt Congolese Govt are well armed and on our side (loads of valuable mineral deposits you see) and allow british companies to trade there. (despite the genocide thats occuring)
