MMM............Didn't see us getting involved in Burma when the people pleaded for assistance or Rwanda

Wonder Why............................

Something we regret and have openly regretted. Rwanda was a huge mistake. We're now getting involved and people complain still.
Zimbabwe has masses of resources we could benefit from. We haven't just gone in though. So we don't do it without UN approval this time. Trying to do things differently this time seems to go totally over peoples heads.

I think one significant issue with regards to Zimbabwe is that it's landlocked. For anyone to launch an air strike there would require either getting the consent of a neighbour to fly over (which you won't get) or doing it without their consent, which there isn't the appetite for I'm afraid to say.

Latest from the Beeb...

The commander of British aircraft operating over Libya says that Col Gaddafi's air force "no longer exists as a fighting force".
...or put sensitively: 'Them fuckers are brown bread. Yippee kay-ay'.

A lot of folk suspect there's more to all this, Icke's theory actually makes sense to me, I remember him predicting this Middle East "uprising" a few years ago, but I read in the papers that he's not a full shilling.. I suppose I'd better book a doctors appointment.

Lets face facts there is a civil war now going on in Libya & the west is taking sides & providing air cover for the anti Gadaffi faction .it is only going to end in tears just like every othe rtime we poke our noses in places where we shouldnt
You know what cb, you won me over, lets pull out of this coalition and leave em to it, I can always turn off the tv when the 6 o clock news comes on and shows images of the body littered streets of Benghazi.

I can't take you seriously cb, why dont you follow the live coverage on the beeb for a bit, one the latest updates is as follows
Bbc said:
LibyaAlHurra tweets: "Medeor first aid ship arrived yesterday in Misrata under military protection. Hospitals had been short of basics including anaesthetics... Malta&US provided security support... 'The joy over the relief supplies so far only in the hospital was huge,' said Dr Nagi Idris founder of 'Global Relief for Libya'... Medeor.org is responding to urgent requests for additional relief consignments, which are packed and should arrive by the end of the week."
I'm glad opinions like yours cb are in the overwhelming minority and I'm proud of my country for helping those poor buggers who without us would be dying hand over fist on the whim of that mad despot.

Such as the UN in Yougoslavia.

And El Salvidor

And Mozambique

oh hang on

So may I ask if you feel Gadaffi should be allowed to go on and commit genocide against the rebels? In your opinion.
I very much doubt you'll get a straight answer out of cyberblue to that. The fella seems confused, one minute this action is all about oil, the next its about revenge, the next its about how much its costing us, the next its cos its got nothing to do with us (ignoring the fact the people of the region assisted our forces in the desert battle with Rommel during ww2). Not once has he appeared to stop and think what our inaction would inevitably result in.

You may be right, his silence is deafening
