This maybe the beginning of a long siege and campaign between the City states of Messi and Bartomeu.

City watch on. Fascinating really because Messi has a few weapons, and routes he could go.

I was thinking it was imminent but think it's better now just to relax, step back and let it play out. It doesn't look like there's going to be any bombs going off, just a grinding campaign to force Bortomeu into submission.
 
I've seen a few people saying Messi can buy out his contract. Where is this coming from? It's clear that this isn't a possibility or it would have been a done deal by now. Happy to be proved wrong

he can, under the webster ruling. However it's a nuclear option and would lead to years of litigation and potentially change the transfer market forever.
