Why doesn't Messi release a statement saying he's going to sign a pre-contract with a club in January to see what reaction he gets from Barca

that was to leave barca on a free though? Barca are fucked financially and say city offered them 50m euros or they get nothing in literally a few months, paying a fortune on his wages for a guy who will play but wont be the messi they know as he doesnt want to be there?

I don't think we can offer anything, for a player that is not available this window and does not want to leave before his contract expires (yes i know he did but wasn't allowed, etc etc, water under bridges that have already burned).

If he had said, he is not going to take Barcelona to court, but he wants to leave and asks the club to find a solution, perhaps we could have gone in with some offer. As it stands, completely black and white. €700m to buy him out and he himself accepts he will see his contract out.

Nothing is ever that black and white. And what is this if it isn’t instigating a move? Whether Barca will play ball is another matter, as is the kind of offer we’d be willing to make for a player available for nothing in a few months, when we have other priorities.
