Re: Messi question

I wouldn't worry, he's about to sign a new deal with Barca and he won't be joining us any time soon.

However, if he was available, you never turn the chance down to sign the world's greatest player.

Re: Messi question

I wouldn't worry either.

Any questions pertaining to money really don't apply to us (even if our negotiators are insistent we're "not going to be held to ransom") so thinking of things within the old framework simply do not apply right now.

Even though the Kaka deal was going to financed by a whole lot of contingent commercial contracts, we still have the luxury few other clubs have, which is loads-a-money; and I think someone's noted elsewhere the very large 'gift' of funds that has already been written off by our new and very generous owner.

City are now operating under different rules; so don't forget it.

Finally, Messi isn't coming to us - so I wouldn't lose too much time pondering such thoughts anyway.

i know nothing but im baffelled the club haven't said anything to deny it.

And if i knew anything i would have said it sooner rather than later, but all we have to do now is wait and see what happens.

the club HAVE denied it

Riley347 doesn't half act like he's spilled all his tampons whenever the realistic City fans tell him such a player isn't coming and has no interest in playing for us! Just read from my posts yesterday to now, and he is not a happy chap! Maybe he's young and doesn't understand the way things work just yet? Lionel Messi will never sign for us, ever. It really is the equivilent of Robinho signing for our rich cousins in Nottingham. We are small-fry compared to the mighty Barca, and quite right too. Not even 20 premier leagues over the next 20 years, with 10 FA Cups and 5 CL's mixed in will not change that, as Barca are more than a club. Some City fans, like Riley, need to come to terms with this.

All what i can say about this is wait and see, he has a release clause of 150m so barca would not say no.

The only problem is if he is willing to sign, but i think a blank cheque will turn anybody's head around.

And if not this year then next year, plus the club haven't made a statement saying its not true so maybe theres some truth about it.

I know this is hard for all of us to beleive, but maybe if we get champs league qualification he'll start thinking about it.

Players like Messi are not motivated by money.

I cant believe this thread has reached 13 pages!

I am not ITK but I can say with 100% certainty that Lionel Messi will not be signing for Manchester City. Dont get me wrong I am pretty sure that his name will have been mentioned at City, I also fully expect that the owners would be willing to pay whatever it took to sign him but Messi will have no interest in leaving Barcelona for any other club in World football least of all a club who at this moment in time can not offer Champions League football.

Zabaletta will play a major part in this as he is Messis best mate..............

lmao - very true - do people not realise the history behind why Messi is actually at Barcelona. He has been treated very well since young with them and will never leave them !!
