I cant believe this thread has reached 13 pages!

I am not ITK but I can say with 100% certainty that Lionel Messi will not be signing for Manchester City. Dont get me wrong I am pretty sure that his name will have been mentioned at City, I also fully expect that the owners would be willing to pay whatever it took to sign him but Messi will have no interest in leaving Barcelona for any other club in World football least of all a club who at this moment in time can not offer Champions League football.

It's because some blinkered blues fail to understand we're not criticising our club when we say players like Messi WILL NOT sign, its just because we're realists and understand the history behind other clubs and that particular players' motiviation in footie. We all love City, but sometimes its obvious when something may happen and its obvious that this is not one of those occasions.

I really hope that this is just more Media speculation, or we are going to be made to look like idiot's again when we fail to pull this off, as we did with the whole Kaka epsiode.

Surely we need to have two good season's and cement ourselves as a solid Champs League team, then try and have a realistic chance of getting these player's in.

Have a look at the 'Messi' thread. I'd say 99% of blues, all but Riley347 infact, know for a 1 million percent fact that we will never sign Messi, ever. So no....don't worry!

I can understand the "he wont sign" thinking because I think the same, but what make me laugh is the "I dont want him" posts....!
I'm that convinced we wont sign him that I had a bet with the other half (a rag) and I have promised to walk down our street with nothing on except her rag shirt if he signs. Thats how confident I am it wont happen.

Huge difference here..

I WANT him to play for City, because he's amazing. But in the same way a Dag & Red player would WANT him to play for them as well.

I DON'T WANT City to go for him, because that would be silly, bigheaded and pointless.
