I can imagine this being the official position before tonight, once bitten twice shy etc. But I just find it hard to believe that Pep and Omar and Txiki wouldn't be phoning each other tonight about making an offer for all the reasons we've talked about in the past about it being a transfer that would change the club forever off the pitch, signing the best player in the world etc.
