Come on mate, there's no way we're not making the phone call. I know that Pep's camp and others will be saying no, I get that. But there's no way we leave a player who generated billions of Euros in his time at Barca and is the most popular player in world football ever who we have been chasing for a decade and decide we're not talking to him. That's madness. There's no way we're run that badly because he hurt our feelings.

Not saying we'll get him, but cannot believe we're not in for him. Heavily belief that City and others will brief we're not. But you know as well as I do that Messi is a once in a lifetime player and it would catapult the CFG's commercial interests into the stratosphere, especially with a New York backend. Soriano and Berrada have probably been walking round with a permanent hard on since they found out.

Can someone fill me in here, what makes everyone think Pep would be against us signing Messi? What's with these rumours about Pep being unhappy about last year and how much merit do they have?

Imagine City will think it’s a bluff until it’s beyond reasonable doubt and will press ahead with current plans as they should.

City have got dragged into the financial melodrama of Barca, Messi or La Liga twice in the past 12 months and nothing good came of it either time. I suspect we've learned our lessons that nothing good comes from this. All energy should be towards getting Kane, as nice as it is getting swept up with daydreams of him playing for us.

If anyone's keen on following the press conference from Laporta translated
