I've said it before that getting Messi will pay itself through shirt sales and sponsors, he's free now and we need to swallow our pride and get after him.
The sky sports reporter in Barcelona just said similar when talking of PSG affording him, he pays for himself through sponsor money, worldwide interest and shirt sales.
We're the only club in the premier league who can afford him.

We need to get it done.

I disagree with this take, I don’t know if many companies would be willing to fire a tonne of money at sponsorship deals for a couple of years? Also with shirt sales, we would have to sell an absolute mountain of them to make it viable, seeing as the bulk of the money from sales would go to Puma. I like the idea of signing Messi, but commercially, I think the time for it has been and went.
