3 years too late. Would upset the applecart I'm afraid. He's been offered 1million per day in Saudi. City's ethos doesn't need him on 3 times what our top earners get paid.
His camp have literally put out to all the reporters that he has no interest in Saudi Arabia and if anything is about to take a cut price deal just to go back to Barca.

I have no doubts Barca will get this deal done but if they can't then we will be ready and waiting.

I'm a knob but I'd still have him even at 35 and past his best but we all know that ship has sailed.

I think he just wants out of Paris and obviously his first choice will be going back ‘home’ to Barca. That said, though, they might not be able to make it happen (99% certain).

Next option after that? America? Like you said, too good. Argentina? He’s said no to that in the past I think. Saudi? Too good for there.

I genuinely think a reunion with Pep along with a plan of playing here for a few years then a clear pathway to America if he wants it has to be enticing to him? Surely?! It’s all whether we want to offer that again 2/3 years on from the burofax debacle.

Personally I hope the club is desperate for a commercial opportunity enough to pursue it. Pep has downplayed it in the past but if he’s offered it, no chance he says no.

I don't think his priority will be going to Barca. He can prioritise anything he wants and at this stage to me it appears that what he prioritises is as much l money as he can make while keeping his family happy. He said he cares about competing last time but ... PSG? It seemed obvious to me that was never going to work.

Barca can't offer him the money. Tbh I'm not sure Manchester will tick the family box because much as I love it, it isn't a patch on Paris or Barcelona, or the money box as City is managed very properly. And any special Messi only deal we can offer, surely Barca can too.

Ronaldo going to Saudi makes it less mad an option. Messi is already repping their Tourist Board. I can see that happening personally. Money talks and what has he got left to prove on the pitch? Nothing. He is the greatest footballer to have ever lived and the chance of anyone replacing him in his lifetime is miniscule. With the sums involved and in that culture his family would live like actual royalty.

Maybe they can, I’m not so sure. They’re in a huge amount of debt now and struggle every 6 months to register their players without falling foul of La Liga’s progressive salary cap
