A couple stories in tomorrow's papers re us and his (Messi's) dad in talks for him to move to us in the summer. Not a bad free transfer that is it lol
 
There really does look to be some substance in this. If we could manage to sign him on a free next year then that would be the deal of al deals.

Also mental would be paying his £280m buyout clause a year before he's available for free, and there is not a person at Barca that would ever accept a bid for him, so it would have to be full amount.

I think Messi will see how Barca are (players, management, structure), and by January will have made his mind up one way or the other.
 
There is no way we'll get him for free imo even if his contract is up in the summer. Somehow we'll still end up paying something to keep them happy. Maybe buying a kid from them for 30m or letting them have a player for free. Just a feeling that City will placate them somehow.
 
If he was on a free couldnt PSG blow us out of the water wages wise

Others would bd in for him ss well....bayern chelsea even utd....teams in china...usa...all could offer the wages we could and more...

People talk as if its a forgone conclusion that he would come to us....its not

PSG no neymar wouldn't want that rags under moureen no chance Bayern no chance couldn't afford his wages Chelsea maybe but pep is like a dad to him and we could blow anyone out of the water wage wise if we really wanted to.

People said the same about Pep coming to City. Look at the people involved and their relationships and it's pretty obvious if Messi leaves Barcelona for another club in Europe in the next 12 months it will ONLY be City just as when Pep was leaving Bayern it was ONLY ever going to be City.
