My only concern is how buying Messi might affect our ability to recruit over the next couple of years financially- I know a player of Messi's world wide fame can bring in a hell of a lot of revenue but does that outweigh the financial lay out in terms fo fee and wages?

Don't worry, my non-City supporting friends tell me all City players get secret 2nd wages off the books. So Messi will only be on £15k a week, officially ;)
