Nothing. People reacting to what happened yesterday and the day before.

We are waiting to see how Barcelona react to Messi's transfer request. Will they agree to sell, and at what price? If they stick a large transfer value on him then the deal is dead. Legally they might be able to do that but if they were to go against the wishes of their main man then they are simply dead as a football club, and there would be no point at all rebuilding the football club.
Thanks Marv,
saves me a day.

Sounds like its going to be a really long weekend if the reports about Jorge Messi not arriving in Barcelona until next week.

Feeling a bit less optimistic this morning having slept off last night's excitement.

Reasons:
  • Him leaving suddenly might crash Barcelona's finances, I'm sure he won't want that
  • Bartomeu's challenge may make him think twice. Maybe it's not so bad if he can accelerate a change at board level.
  • If it was advanced as we think and his camp were confident in their reading of the release clause, then why the pause? I'm sure there are a million reasons but it's made me question. He could still change his mind.

The media trying to unsettle the club yet again by saying that a deal will be done with cash and nearly half the current playing staff. City have long term plans and I am sure that losing Bernado, Jesus, etc. etc. Is not part of the plan.

I don’t think anyone would mind losing Garcia and Angelino. But I personally would be really upset if he we let Bernardo and Jesus go. I love those guys. For me they’re the future. I wouldn’t swap them for anyone in the world.

Stop being so sensible on this thread.

Surely you should realize everyone are acting like 8 year olds who have just spent the last 12 hours eating Haribo

Looks like there will be 16,000 signatures today to get a no confidence against Bartomeu which I think would force him to stand down.

im confident Messi wants to come But I just don’t see Barca agreeing any deal, hope I’m wrong.

So go down that line of them keeping Messi for this season you think he be happy? And then he leaves for nowt at least now they might actually get something.

Go back to bed

Well I got my pizza after some negotiation. I explained what I was doing camping in a tent near the Airport Hotel to the girl taking the order but she didn't sound impressed so I asked to speak to the manager who happened to be a big Espanyol fan. He was happy to lay on a free pizza and a portion of chips as long as I paid him upon completion of my mission.

I popped into my old stomping ground, Eccles this morning to get some sausages for the camp fire later - purely because there are no flights scheduled to land until mid-afternoon you understand.

Messi-mania is reaching fever pitch on the streets of Eccles as you can see from my footage.

* they’re in the shit anyway having just borrowed hundreds of millions.
* the incoming president has already publicly called Messi for this so same ship different captain. Plus the outgoing president is liable for the debt if he doesn’t find a way to clear it as I understand so he’s not leaving.
* yes he could but he’d now look a complete dick & bottler. How do we know it’s not all sorted? His dad is his agent & cant get a flight until Monday due to COVID the reports suggest so his only option is private jet next week.

This doesn't bode well for the leave on a free route. There may be more to it than these guys haven't thought of but it looks a minefield City would be mad to get involved in.

Looks like if it will happen, it will be a fee or fee plus players.

Possibly, but I strongly suspect that might apply only if it were any other PL club but us.

they’ll not waste an opportunity to have him as the PL poster boy, money talks & any grudge with us goes out the window while he’s at City. Once he leaves then the gloves are off again I’d suspect but he’s a cash cow.

Give half off of the squad away and be left with a team full of 30+ year olds that need replacing in 1-3 years, surely not a recipe for disaster.
