the reactions here are very strange.if that will happen it will hurt the team massively. Is he really able to make the difference anymore? The last years tell us, no. I'd rather see that money spent into the future of the team. It's a marketing gag, nothing more.

Just saw a Liverpool fan comment on Skysports that Messi move is all about the money.
Even better an Arsenal fan commented that we don't need him he is finished.
If this is the piss boiling this transfer is leading too, I can't wait to see this happen!
Screw the footballing reasons

I don't understand what's wrong with this cult. The man gave his life and soul to the team for more than a decade. And now they want to cash in on him as he's moving on.
It’s called lack of class....and the fact they are shitting themselves at the thought of him going to us.
Yeah he was really scared. So scared he tried to bribe the police out of sheer terror. I hope he never watches It. It’ll cost him a fortune.
Prince Andrew is a far better liar!

If you were honest and admitted who you really support (you can add it to your profile too) then people would discuss it with you.

As you don't seem to want to and appear to have a low figure IQ then you can do one.

Hi everyone and sorry for my terrible english.

I´m a Barça fan and a reader of this forum, because i like your club since the signing of Silva (and now i like it much more because Pep).

This is my opinion: you are going to sign Messi 100%. Because Messi wants to live the club, he´s decision is firm, he needs a new challenge, he knows the talent of Pep and is a Kun Aguero´s close friend. And the most important thing, you are the only club wich meets to fundamental conditions: have the chance to win important trophies and have the money to pay him.

My opinion, too: he´s not going to leave for free, he´s not right about his contract issue. And nobody is going to sing him in this conditions and risk for a vey expensive penalty. And there is another issue: the FFP. You have to lose some salaries to can afford his signing.

So, the only way is an offer with cash and players. Minimum two players and maximum 3. What players are interesting for FC Barcelona and no crucial for you? García, Gabriel Jesús and Bernardo. May be Cancelo, but probably not.

Probably, you may think you have much more power in the negotiation. And is 80% true. But this is not a normal transfer. Messi is the biggest legend in the history of the club and the person who sells him will be a real villain for all his live. So is gonna be a tought negotiation, and if Man City doesn´t do the correct offer, Bartomeu will be happy to reject it. And Messi can stay and change his mind because in march we will have elections and a new board.

And what is a proper offer to me? García, Bernardo and Gabriel and a small amount of money (20m?) or García and Gabriel and more money (80-100?). You can think is too much because he´s age and the difficult situation for our board. But remember that it´s not a normal player, he´s the symbol of the club, of the city and our hero. For less than that the fans will burn the Camp Nou and they probably will in any case. So i think you will sign him but it won´t be easy.

And my third opinion: a transfer to City is the best for all, Barça, City and Messi.

Post data: the song has to be "you´re my wonder Goat".
Good post but I take issue with the players you find acceptable, namely Jesus. It would make no sense whatsoever to leave ourselves with a 30 year+ strike partnership. It would negate the whole point of getting Messi in the first place. Bernardo I can see happening because Messi would do a better job on the right flank but Mahrez would be more acceptable. García is already gone as far as I am concerned.

WUM is an insult now? I just called you out for being a wind up merchant, which you clearly are. If you view that as an insult then I guess the boot fits.

Well.. I've watched what has happened to his team in spring and summer. Can't think of him in the more physical EPL..

as was pointed out yesterday, if they are marking & kicking Messi off the park then they are leaving KDB & Aguero unmarked. Different kettle of fish at City than Barça as he has the players around him willing to chip in. Barça need a huge overhaul so your point is void in reality.

It's about how we use Messi. Pep will think about a system that maximises Messi's attacking qualities and minimises his weaknesses when defending.

How can this happen? By surrounding Messi with pressing machines who are at the same time pretty good in attack, KDB, Foden, Jesus, Bernardo...The opposition won't dare to attack us with many players, so we will play most of the time in their half and use thus Messi's genius to the max.
