I’m posting about this at an alarming rate but one more for a while;
Just seems strange to me that Jorge Flies to Spain to renew or tell them his son is actually going to continue.
And Messi skips multiple days of training and Covid tests. completely unnecessary and I think there’s more to it that we’re going to find out yet.
But what’s in it for Messi staying, more money? A longer contract? Strange a man in Messi’s position is acting like this for those things alone.
I don’t buy the “wants to do right by his club” when the board have made him look a **** and all the other players aren’t remotely his level
 
I guess it’s over to the Isco thread. This year’s Messi thread seems to have gone the way of all the others. If the rumours are true that he is staying, we will presumably fall for it again next year so a bit of fun still to be had.

Hope we at least make it clear to him that if he stays and Barca have another shit season, are out of the title race by March and suffer another embarrassing UCL exit then we're not gonna be there for him to run to.
 
I can't see how Messi staying until the end of his contract helps Bartomeu at all. A pissed off player being paid £50m to play in a downgraded squad is a no-win situation all round. The only wins for Bartomeu are either sell for say £80-100m and have funds to revitalise the squad or get Messi to sign an extension to his current contract and claim the kudos for keeping him at the club until he retires.
 
If he's decided to give it one more year, then there's nothing to be done but move on. Surprised. I think this was his last opportunity for a move to a club that will challenge for the Champions League.

Real Madrid are also in problems so they could still compete domestically.

I vaguely remember the furore when he signed the contract.
It was click bait heaven.
“Messi can leave for free in ” were the headlines and then it was but only to China or such like. Not to a direct rival.

that’s no good to us. And it was quickly forgotten. Along with him asking zabba and Aguero about City. And asking one of our players during a game v Girona.
worlds best player just wants to know if there is any truth behind the hype.
Fast forward to today.
Have City seen that contract ? Have we been over it with a fine tooth comb and said the direct rival can’t be enforced?
I’m guessing we have.
all that Barca hold is his registration.
they will probably pop that in the 2nd class post just to piss off blue moon.

Boris Johnson wrote two pieces for the newspaper, agreeing with us both leaving & staying in the EU.

No law says Messi has to release the video.

Bartomeu is out soon, squad rebuild will be for the next president and Barto gives 0 fucks about that. Keeping Messi will be seen as a win for Barto.
 


Various options still open, can see there being lots of random leaks in all directions... only Messi knows what's going on...
