Xavi cant save Barca, there is so much to do with so little

Keeping Messi imo is the worst thing they can do financially

Messi knows this & he wants to leave on the best terms

Messi will leave in July & hopefully sign for City where he will have great players, the best manager, great owners with deep pockets & a legacy in Manchester & then New York

Nothing more sure imo staying for a shitty 2 more years at Barca stuggling to win & playing with bang average stars or 4 years at City & US allowing him to perform at the top table

Pretty much what alluded to means

He does not want to enter into the politics of the election, no player (even Xavi) is going to make it known who they are backing. It's the worst kept secret that he is backing Laporta and hopeful on a Xavi coaching appointment
I don't see how you reached that conclusion. He hasn't ever spoken or given any hints about font or laporta. He could be supporting font and Xavi you never know.

because those 3 teams have been so good...even Sevilla shit all over the Rags when it came to the crunch last season. Excitement, most watched aren't proofs of quality.

But when did Seville last win La Liga?

Yes, Real Madrid and Barcelona in the CL, and Seville in the EL, do much better than English clubs. But La Liga is boring and predictable. Odds on it will always be Real Madrid or Barcelona, bar Atletico every now and again, who wins La Liga. This season might be different?

You only have to look at the PL table to see how wide open it is this season.

Hopefully Messi will fancy City and the PL next season?

so 4 PL winners plus Leicester's "unique triumph", 3 in La Liga. Sevilla have knocked out both Liverpool and the Rags in the Europa League, Athletic Bilbao 10 years ago knocked out the Rags in the Europa League under Ferguson. Sevilla won 4 Europa Leagues, Real 3 CLs on the bounce and 4 in total, Atleti reached 2 CL finals and won 3 ELs.

The PL, bar the Leicester debacle, has not been open. Either Liverpool or us have won it at a canter the past 3 seasons, Chelsea comfortably dispatched Spurs in the end, the Leicester incident, then Chelsea won it comfortably, then a rare 3 way fight between us, Liverpool and Chelsea, then the Rags won it comfortably, then we won it through Kun and before that it was the Rags or Chelsea, so bar the odd appearance in the running by Spurs pretty much 4 teams for over a decade, and very few close races?

Then are we really going to look at the level Brighton, West Brom, Burnley, Fulham and Sheff Utd are at, or the likes of Cardiff, Huddersfield, Hull before them compared to the lower reaches of La Liga? The La Liga mid-table have always played better football, always been tactically superior and done so on lesser resources. I saw Fulham v Celta a couple of years ago in the final week of pre-season and Celta played Fulham off the park.

Think the argument is pretty disingenuous 2bh. We joke about Stoke Away, but Ramos and Pepe spent half a decade trying to cripple Messi so I don't think it holds up.

Yet by all accounts the PL is the most exciting league in the World. And IS the most watched league in the World. It s***'s all over La Liga for TV audiences. It is the richest league in the World by a mile. It has the best Managers in the World, Pep, Klopp, Jose. La Liga is a two team league, with Atletico breaking the Madrid and Barcelona title monopoly every now and again. There will be no City or Leicester story in La Liga. Just Real Madrid, Batcelona, and maybe Atletico.
Please don’t be like that. Watch other leagues and don’t just listen to the media. Yes no other league has 6 teams but it is not like all big 6 teams are always at their best and compete for the title.

If a Messi approved President wins he’s hardly going to leave. He has demonstrated unwavering loyalty and has been handsomely rewarded. I get that he was considering an exit but there’s a huge gap between that point and then actually leaving..

Big difference between both leagues, are their associations. Our associations dont give a toss about the CL. EFL have just made that clear by changing date of the league cup final. Prem often play games 3 days before CL. Where as the spanish tend to change dates to suit Barca and Madrid

interview last night was recorded 2 weeks ago and Laporta confirmed on 20th he has privately spoken to Messi. Moreover Leo alludes to Laporta more than once last night, with reverence. Conclusion on whom he supports is clear, whether he can be convinced is not

Only my opinion but he isn’t coming and I’m not the only fan who is sick of the constant conjecture. Let’s get on with rebuilding the squad (to say nothing about winning something this season) and stop allowing ourselves to be dragged in to the circus.
