I don’t get this argument.. We’ve just signed a player from a club that he supported all his life, his family are season ticket holders. If he at 25 can move to a new club causing utter outrage and anger then Messi can move to a club and make new friends! Add in to the fact he love Pep so… Not for one minute suggesting he’ll join us but to say he won’t because he has mates at PSG is daft.

I think ibk Messi's last chance to come to us was last summer. We've moved on now and building our own team.
As much as I'd love it, I also have got to the point I'm not bothered abiut him now and like a few people are saying it all screams of a political plot to get La Liga to change their stance

This I think sums it up, PSG now realising they maybe getting played and City not interested in getting in to a war with PSG over the player. Let the Messi camp stew.

This seems reasonable. My guess is City won’t go all in until it’s clear and obvious Messi has zero avenue back to Barcelona. Once that happens though.. can’t imagine Tixi and Pep not giving it their all.
With all other players the argument you say holds. But not with messi. He has a different personality. This is a player that has played for one club up till possibly (2years) till retirement.

Ergo my point…. All his “friends” he’s leaving behind so it’s irrelevant where he signs next. Play with your “mates” who you see a few times a year, maybe, at best. Or go to a club where your friend Pep is who you respect, admire and learn from and will see daily? Easy option for me but like I say, I think it’s all a stunt and he’ll stay at Barça.
