Barca and Real are rejecting this CVC deal in Spain. Vote going to all clubs in top 2 tiers. From what I can see CVC have tried this deal with Germany and Italy and not got it over the line. Barca and Real are commited to Super League and the deal apparently kills that. Stinks of Barca and Real giving up some of their one-sided TV rights and Super League ambitions unfortunately with the backdrop of Tebas wanting to stick the knife in to the big boys backed up by the other clubs.

At first I thought the money would allow Real to bankroll Mbappe and maybe say a Salah. Galactico signings back on the table etc. And likewise, Barca can get Messi on the books. But they won't sacrifice SUper League for ANYTHING

the situation in Spain isn't set at all, you can imagine that CVC are looking at their investment after hearing this but given that Real Madrid have no interest in signing that deal anyway I don't think it will change much. Even if the CVC deal allows Barca to retain Messi I would highly doubt they would be happy to sign the CVC deal either (just seen a statement saying Barca have rejected the CVC deal too)

I only had a quick scan through the translation but Real have called the deal illegal, there is no way Perez would sign a deal that gives up access to the ESL and takes away 11% for their audio-visual rights for the next 50 years

For CVC the projected return is over 20% per year, they have tried the same thing with both the German and Italian leagues and failed

i smell a rat, in a barce shirt and holding a pistol aimed at La Liga.
"Bend the rules or we all go down" , Spain's version of a Mexican stand-off.

Tebas(maybe the rat you refer to) will be shitting himself that his rules are damaging his league and forcing his prime asset to leave. He’ll change the rules, Messi will stay and Tebas will blame us for forcing him to change the rules by signing Grealish for 100m

Hes already left mate.

He's been out of contract for months, technically he left ages ago. Doesn't mean he couldn't re-sign though and this just be political, like some are saying. I think Barca have fucked it though and he's gone.

Spanish press said late last night he's told PSG players he's joining them.

This has PSG written all over it if Pep has genuinely got a serious issue about how Leo behaved last summer.
Why would Pep have an issue with how Messi behaved?

He handed in a transfer request, was refused his move and didn't take Barca to court because he loves the club. Not really sure what more he could have done
