i think alot of people let the later part of his career over shadow just how good he was.

Maradona, the greatest ever.

The only man who will ever win a World Cup on his own.

Nobody else would have gone to somewhere like Napoli and won them the title and UEFA Cup.

Thats why he is the best ever! And this is my answer to the poster who asked me to explain..

Can you please tell me what the Tranny has ever done on the international scene?

No I can't, cos I have no idea. What i do know though is that he has shone in the best league in the world and is currently doing just as well in the 2nd best league. Whenever I have seen him play for Portugal he's done alright, nothing spectacular, but whenever I have bothered to watch the meatpackers play, Messi has been a nothing.

So pele is wank then? He never played in the prem so that makes him not as good as samaras and corradi

pele spent hsi entire careers playing in sub standard leagues , most over rated player ever

I think it's important not to look upon past greats with too much nostalgia. You always hear the 'Oh he'll never be as good as x, different class of player' without any real reason behind it. Same goes for the 'Britain isn't what it used to be' argument, people tend to look on the past in a favourable light.

Messi couldn't exactly be doing much more than he is now, could he?!

He's over took Zidane for me as the best player I've ever seen and he's only 22, which is scary, I've been watching him recently thinking "this guy isn't fucking human", he's unreal.

My Dad's seen all the greats and he rates him joint 3rd with Zidane as his all time best, behind Pele and Maradona, just ahead of Beckenbauer, Cruyff and Best.
